This self denying nature of his personality became apparent during the 2001 Ministry formation and also during the KPCC reconstitution which followed. He even sacrificed the AICC membership, which was dear to his heart. When the Cabinet expansion took place in 2002, he was a leading candidate among the front runners, but he opted out for another person. In 1994, he left his home after celebrating his daughter’s birthday, and went to file his resignation from the ministerial position; the same characteristic smile was visible on his face. |
